Obituary for Anna Mae H. Reinert

Anna Mae H. Reinert, age 95 of Shawano, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, March 17, 2022, at Shawano Health Services where she had been a resident for the past month.

Anna Mae was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on May 1, 1926, a daughter of the late Jim and Mary (Paiser) Boehm. She attended school in Leopolis then Shawano, graduating from Shawano High School with the Class of 1944. Following high school, she worked in the office at Four Wheel Drive in Clintonville. On September 29, 1946, Anna Mae was united in marriage to Llewellyn Reinert at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Leopolis. Following their marriage the couple lived in Tilleda before moving to Shawano where they owned several business including Club 43, now known as “The Shack”, for over ten years. Later, Anna Mae worked at the Shawano Clinic in medical records, retiring when she turned 70. She is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Anna Mae loved her flower gardens.

Survivors include her children, Mary Smits of Green Bay, Victoria (Robert) Sprenger of Marion, Joseph Reinert of Shawano, and Anthony Reinert of Suring; her grandchildren, Matthew Smits of DePere and Andrew (Lorie) Smits of Appleton; her great-grandchildren, Madyson Van Ark and Charlie Smits; her sister, Rita Otto of Leopolis; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Catherine Reinert, and her son-in-law, Thomas J. Smits.

A Memorial Mass for Anna Mae will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. Fr. Scott Valentyn will be the Celebrant. Inurnment will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Leopolis. Visitation will begin on Wednesday evening, March 23, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano with a Parish Wake Service at 6:30 pm. Visitation will continue at the church on Thursday at 10:00 am and continue until the time of Mass. Memorials to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Anna Mae’s name are preferred.
