Obituary for Carol J. Seefeldt

Carol J. Seefeldt, age 89 of Shawano, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, July 7, 2021 at Evergreen Care Center in Shawano.

Carol was born November 26, 1931 in Marinette, Wisconsin, a daughter of the late Otto and Frances (Behrens) Peters. She attended school in Marinette, graduating from Marinette High School with the class of 1949. Following high school, Carol worked at a bank in Peshtigo. On July 15, 1950, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Seefeldt at St. John Lutheran Church in the Town of Grover. The couple made their home in Peshtigo until moving to Shawano in 1960. Carol worked for 25 years for the Shawano/Gresham School District as secretary for the Superintendent of Schools, retiring in 1993.

Carol is a former member of St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. She was a charter member of the Shawano Sweet Adeline’s. Carol was an accomplished piano player, having played for over 85 years. She loved her family, traveling, gardening, feeding the birds, and doing volunteer work.

Survivors include her five children, Alan (friend Cheryl) Seefeldt of Green Bay, Gary (Charlene) Seefeldt of Pella, Larry Seefeldt of DePere, Pamela (Sherry) Turner of Maine, and Jon (Tereasa) Seefeldt of Neenah; seven grandchildren, Dylan, Brianna, Samantha, Tasha, Kyle, Hannah, and Samuel; seven great-grandchildren, Andromeda, Kharma, Trustin, Kaia, Triton, Mason, and Kaden; her brother, Dale (Bernice) Peters of Marinette; her special friends, Jerry and Marlow Krueger and family of Shawano; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Nicholas Seefeldt; her brother, Charles Peters; and her former husband and friend, Kenneth Seefeldt.

Funeral services for Carol will take place on Monday, July 12, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano. Pastor Ron Raddatz will officiate. Interment will be in Glenwood Memorial Gardens in Marinette. Visitation will begin at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
