Obituary for Edna E. Mueller

Edna E. (nee Herm) Mueller, age 103 formerly of Shawano, passed away peacefully at her home in Green Bay on Monday, May 24, 2021.

Edna was born November 2, 1917 in the Town of Washington, a daughter of the late Paul and Elsie (Gierra) Herm. She attended country school, and helped her family with chores. On June 1, 1938 she was united in marriage to Wilmer E. Mueller at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Town of Washington. Edna worked as a seamstress at Junior House Clothing in Milwaukee for many years. Wilmer passed away on August 1, 1976 in Milwaukee, then Edna moved back to Shawano.

Edna is a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. She was involved in several organization, including the Golden Agers and the Shawano Songbirds. Edna participated in card clubs, and was an avid bingo player. She enjoyed flower gardening, doing yard work, traveling, cooking, and baking. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and quilting.

Survivors include her four children, Jacqueline Radke of Spring Valley, CA, Harvey (Judy) Mueller of Shawano, LuAnn (Melvin) Check of Neshkoro, WI, and Debbie Goff of Green Bay; 15 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandson, David; her great-grandson, Kevin; her brothers, Harvey Herm and Harry Herm; and her sisters, LaVerne Reinke and Lucille Gast.

A funeral service for Edna will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. James Lutheran Church of Shawano. Pastor Mark Drengler will officiate. Burial will be at Arlington Park Cemetery in Greenfield, WI. Visitation will begin at the church at 10:00 AM and continue until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers and plants, her family requests memorials in Edna’s name to the St. James Lutheran Church Radio Fund.
