Obituary for Eilene G. Buettner

Eilene G. Buettner, age 82 of the Town of Richmond, passed away peacefully Monday evening, December 20, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Eilene was born June 19, 1939, in Shawano, a daughter of the late Paul and Erna (Zander) Krueger. She grew up in Shawano and graduated from Shawano High School with the Class of 1957. On June 29, 1957, she was united in marriage to Charles “Chas” Buettner at St. Jakobi Lutheran Church. Following their marriage, the couple lived and farmed in the Town of Richmond. Chas preceded her in death on May 27, 2019.

Eilene was a good and faithful member of Divine Savior Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir. She was employed at Eagle Knitting from 1985 until 2001, and later was employed at Shawano Medical Center. Eilene was a talented seamstress, sewing wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, and new dresses for her daughters. She also loved cake decorating, gardening, and music.

Survivors include: her children, Amy Casetta, Sally (Roger) Bacon, Jonathan (Kim Becker) Buettner, and Brent Buettner, all of Shawano; her grandchildren, Holly (Mike) Weatherwax of Tigerton, Jessy (Brandon) Clark of Shawano, Lisa (Ryan) Engels of Shiocton, Stacie (Jordon) Robbins of Shawano, Andrew (Gina) Damveld of Shawano, Steven (Ashley) Damveld of Shawano, Kiera (Tom) Guttenberg of Appleton, Logan Wouters of Menasha, Jared Wouters of Massachusetts, and Kayla (Andrew) Meneau of Gillett; great-grandcildren, Elliot, Cooper, and Reegan Clark, Danny, Maria, Gracie, and Halie Damveld, Evelyn and Everett Engels, and Carla Dereck, and Reed Meneau; and her siblings, Alice Peters of Shawano, and Daniel (Shirley) Krueger of Shawano. She was preceded in death by her daughter, LuAnn Buettner, and her brother, Rudolph Krueger.

A memorial service for Eilene will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Divine Savior Lutheran Church in Shawano. Pastor Wolf Parson will officiate. Inurnment will take place in the St. Jakobi Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Richmond, at a later date. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM and continue until the time of service.
