Obituary for Elizabeth M. "Betty" Albers-Doering

Elizabeth M. “Betty” Albers-Doering, age 92 of Shawano, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, March 28, 2021 at Evergreen Care Center where she had been a resident for the past six years.

Betty was born July 30, 1928 in Suamico, Wisconsin, a daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Hendricks) Albers. She was employed at Hotz Mgs. for 24 years, retiring in 1990. Betty has been a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 60 years. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Betty loved to polka dance, play cards, and go fishing. She was a woman of great faith.

Survivors include her daughters, Pat Heling of Shawano and Carol Volz of New London; her grandchildren, Scott (Tracy) Balthazor of Freedom, Lesley (Greg) Fuerst of New London, Rachel (Matt) Olson of Navarino, Cori Heling of Appleton, Tammy (Bob) Daus of Eagle River, and Tonia (Tom) Atchison of Eagle River; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Florence Toellner, Delores Manders, and Elaine Finch; her son-in-law, Dennis Volz; and her special friend, John Wierzchowski.

A funeral service for Elizabeth will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano. Deacon James Lonick will officiate. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Howard. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and continue until the hour of service.
