Obituary for Gloria A. Krause

Gloria A. Krause, age 69 of the Town of Washington, passed away Wednesday evening, August 25, 2021 at Evergreen Care Center in Shawano following a courageous nine year battle with cancer.

Gloria was born June 22, 1952 in Shawano, a daughter of the late Albert and Mavis (Hull) Flessert. She attended school in Shawano, graduating from Shawano High School in 1971. Following high school, Gloria worked at Holy Family Hospital in Manitowoc as a central services aide. On February 22, 1975, she was united in marriage to Timothy Krause at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Manitowoc until 2004 when they returned to the Shawano area.

Gloria is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. While living in Manitowoc, she was active in the Eagles Club #706. Gloria loved attending social gatherings. She was an avid collector of angel figurines and snow globes. She was also a huge Elvis Presley fan. Gloria had a big heart, and always put other’s needs before her own.

Survivors include her loving husband of 46 years, Timothy Krause, of the Town of Washington; her brothers, Randy Flessert, of Shawano; her step-brother John (Bonnie) Stickney, of Eastman, GA; two brothers-in-law, Bob (Judy) Krause, of Fond du Lac and Mike (Julie) Donahue of Manitowoc; her sister-in-law, Sue (John) Junk, of Manitowoc; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Gail Miller; her brother Dale (Sammy) Flessert; and her step-sister, Peggy Lane.

A memorial service for Gloria will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano. Deacon James Lonick will officiate. Inurnment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will begin at the funeral home on Saturday at 9:00 AM and continue until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers and plants, the family requests memorials in Gloria’s name to the Sacred Heart Catholic School in Shawano.
