Obituary for Gregory J. "Greg" Senzig

Gregory John “Greg” Senzig, age 59 of Shawano, passed away on May 17, 2022, in Lake Havasu City, Arizona after suffering cardiac arrest.

Greg was born in Shawano on October 11, 1962, a son of Kathy (Peeters) Senzig and the late Jerry Senzig. After attending Shawano High School, Greg enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was a proud veteran, and displayed, honored, and supported veteran programs. Following his time in the service, Greg joined the family business, Senzig’s Inc., with his father, Jerry, and his brother, Todd.

On June 29, 1991, Greg married his wife, Trini (Maersch). In 2000, he left the family business to spend more time with his daughter, Samantha, and the three of them started Silhouette Stables Tack and Gifts. With that, he began horse training and a horse breeding program. Greg enjoyed team roping with his horses, Dusty and Reno, and treasured watching Samantha in rodeos. It was a wonderful time with family and friends. Later in life, Greg enjoyed riding his Harley, boating, and desert UTV-ing in Lake Havasu, AZ. He and Trini became friends with so many wonderful people, their “Havasu Family.” Greg proudly joined the Moose Club, Elks Club, and loved his afternoon get-togethers. There was always something going on with lots of fun stories and belly laughs. Being an outdoor person, Greg enjoyed pheasant hunting with his dog, Remington, in the Dakotas, fishing in the waters by Johnny’s Resort, and most recently mule deer hunting in Wyoming.

Survivors include his wife, Trini; his children, Samantha (Dillon) Sperberg, and their son, Stetson, and Johnathan (Andrea) Schneider, and their son, Harrison; his mother, Kathy Senzig; his brothers, Todd (Wendy) Senzig, and their daughters, Maria and Alli, and Troy Senzig and his children, Connor, and Katelin; and his mother-in-law, Jeanne Maersch. He was blessed with many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Senzig; and his father-in-law, Bill Maersch.

A celebration of Greg’s life will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Doc’s Harley-Davidson Hog Barn with a blessing at 5:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers and plants, a memorial fund has been established in Greg’s name for local organizations.
