Obituary for Jean M. Seliger

Jean M. Seliger, age 66 of Shawano, formerly of Park Falls, passed away on Sunday evening, August 14, 2022 at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center in Green Bay following a brief illness.

Jean was born March 11, 1956, at home on the family farm in Marathon County, a daughter of the late Elroy and Gladys (Hornung) Busko. She attended the Marathon schools. Following school, she worked as a nursing home aid. She married Roger Reisner, and the couple was blessed with two children, Jennifer and William. On May 27, 1983, Jean was married to Jim Seliger. In 1986, the couple, along with their children, moved to Park Falls, Wisconsin where they purchased Flambeau Lanes and later, Northway Motor Lodge. They owned and operated the businesses until 2019 when they moved to Shawano.

Jean was an avid bowler and a great cook. She loved to read, and excelled at trivia games. While in retirement, the couple enjoyed vacationing in Florida. She and Jim were members of the Price County Tavern League. Jim preceded her in death on July 12, 2022. Jean adored her grandchildren whom she commonly referred to as her little angels.

Survivors include her children, Lisa (Ben) Verhagen of Kaukauna, Rebecca (Jesse) Vosters of Shawano, William (Supria) Reisner of Hurlburt Field, FL, and Michael (Marcee) Seliger of Sheboygan; ten grandchildren, Samantha, Ashley, Grant, Mason, Brody, Peyton, Caden, Griffin, Marchael, and Claire; three brothers, Joseph Busko of Hancock; Mike Busko and James Busko, both of Wausau; and her sister, Lisa (Jeff) Landowski of Wausau; and several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Jean was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer; and three sisters, Lynn Tessmer, Lori Busko, and Jaklyn Busko.

A time to gather and celebrate the life of Jean Seliger will take place on Saturday, August 20, 2022, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano.
