Obituary for Karen R. Wesse
Karen R. Wesse, age 73 of Shawano, passed away unexpectedly on Monday evening, March 14, 2022, at ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano.
Karen was born in Wichita, Kansas on December 14, 1948, a daughter of the late Henry and Betty (Simmons) Giele. She grew up in Wichita and graduated from high school there. On May 29, 1976, Karen was united in marriage to Lawrence Wesse. The couple settled in Riverdale, Illinois where Karen was a homemaker and housewife. She is a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. Karen bred Sheltie dogs for over 20 years and was an accomplished quilter. She was also an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Wesse, of Shawano; her children, Jerome (Heather) Michelson of Brandon, WI, D'Angelo (Nura) Michelson of Madison, WI, Kevin Wesse of Shawano, and Katie (Brandon) Prall of Seymour, WI; and eleven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and one sister.
A memorial service for Karen will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano. Pastor Mark Drengler will officiate. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and continue until the time of service.
