Obituary for Leah-Rae Seehafer (Gast)

Leah-Rae Seehafer, age 81 of Friendship, formerly of Shawano, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 26, 2021, surrounded by her four daughters.

Leah-Rae was born October 15, 1939 in Shawano, a daughter of the late Hugo and Ruby (Dickow) Gast. She graduated from Shawano High School with the class of 1957. On April 28, 1962 she was united in marriage to Robert L. Seehafer. Together they owned and operated Seehafer’s Bar and Bowl, formerly Rades Bowling Alley in Shawano, where they first met. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed fishing, camping, watching the Packers, Badgers, and NASCAR. Leah-Rae also enjoyed puzzles and crossword puzzles. She was a head coach in the Allouez Anchors Soccer League and a former District President of the AMVETS Auxiliary in Shawano.

Survivors include her four daughters, Jamie Seehafer, Dawn Wheeler, and Bobbi Johnson, all of Friendship, and Joey (Jody) Seehafer of Grand Marsh; her grandchildren, Paul (Ashley) Seehafer, Kyle (Amber) Hintz, Myles (Rajanne) Tourtillott, Jerra (Levi) Seehafer, Whitney (Chris) Schmidt, Jenna (Cory) Seehafer, and Dana (Travis) Abing; her honorary grandchild, Sig “Siggy” Lund; great-grandchildren, Hanah, Delaney, Haydn, Lilyana, Hunter, Dominic, Laraina, and Mila; honorary great-grandchildren, Dakota, Atreya, Jace, and MaKinley; and many aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Robert Seehafer; her brothers, Derald “Chub” Gast I and Larry “Sarge” Gast; her sister, Patricia “Patsy” Krasin; and her nephew, Derald “Lil Chub” Gast II.

A funeral service for Leah-Rae will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano. Pastor Scott Ludford will officiate. Interment will be in Zion Rest Cemetery, Town of Herman. Visitation will take place at the funeral home beginning at 9:00 AM and continuing until the hour of service.
