Obituary for Margie L. Sperberg

Margie L. Sperberg, age 88 of Shawano, passed away peacefully on Friday, January
14th, 2022, at the ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano with her husband Warren at her
side.

Margie was born on February 2, 1933, in the Town of Richmond, a daughter of Albert
and Minnie (Schultz) Wruck. She lived in Shawano all her life. Margie attended Red River
Country School, then attended and graduated from Shawano High School with the
Class of 1951. On April 26, 1952, Margie was united in marriage to Warren “Bud” Sperberg. Margie is a member of the Shawano United Methodist Church “The Church on the Hill.” She
enjoyed bird watching, flowers, reading, playing cards, and going on annual fishing trips
to Canada with Warren.

Over the years Margie worked at Shawano Hospital as a nurse’s aide while in high
school, was a self-employed mink rancher with Warren, supervisor for Eagle Knitting
Mills in Shawano, and driver for Grosskopf’s Bus for many years driving school bus #50
and #21. Margie ended her work career with Joe Huntington Coaches transporting folks
on trips to area casinos.

Margie is survived by her husband of 69 years, Warren of Shawano; her daughters, Laura (Rob)
Schultz of Shawano and Linda (Jim) Meidam of Clintonville; her granddaughter Jill (Sam II)
Sousek of Shawano; two step great-grandsons, Zack Sousek of Appleton, and Seth
Sousek of LaCrosse. She is further survived by nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Kenneth Warren; her parents; two
brothers, Roger (Arlene) Wruck and Raymond (Delores) Wruck; sister Donna (Henry
“Dick”) Lenzner; and nieces, Susan (Lenzner) Schultz, Marie Lenzner and Diana Wruck.

Funeral services for Margie will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at 11:00 am at the
Shawano United Methodist Church with Reverend Dukkan Daniel Kim officiating.
Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 until the time of services. Interment will
be held at the Salem United Methodist Cemetery-Red River.

In lieu of flowers and plants, the family has requested that all memorials be directed to
the Salem Red River United Methodist Church cemetery fund in Margie’s name.
The family requests that visitors who are not fully vaccinated for COVID-19 wear a
mask and social distancing be followed.
