Obituary for Robert R. Weber

Robert R. Weber, age 88 of Shawano, formerly of Milwaukee, WI, went to meet his Lord and Savior early Monday morning April 17, 2023, in his home in Shawano, WI.

Bob was born in Milwaukee, WI on September 12, 1934, son of Rudolph and Tess (Feder) Weber. Bob was mainly raised by his grandfather and grandmother Feder. He grew up in Milwaukee and graduated from Central High School in West Allis. In his young years, Bob served as an altar boy, and he also enjoyed ringing the steeple bells! He met the love of his life Betty Ann Bartell in high school and married her on July 14, 1956, at Saint Aloysius Catholic Church in West Allis.

Bob served in the United States Navy Reserve for two years. He was appointed to the Milwaukee City Police Department on January 6, 1958, and served as a Motorcycle Police Officer until he retired on February 22, 1989. He faithfully drove his motorcycle all year long regardless of rain or snowstorms. In June 2004 Bob and his beloved bride Betty moved to Shawano. They both were, and Betty still is, an active member and contributor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano.

Bob loved the Lord, his wife Betty, and their four daughters Laura, Cheryl, Brenda, and Sharon. He enjoyed taking family vacations to their cottage in Crandon and to Florida. After Bob retired, he traveled with Betty throughout the United States. He loved to go to Hansville, AL to EWTN, and to the surrounding Catholic churches. Bob was an avid Packer fan all his life. He also mentored many of his daughters` friends and neighborhood kids with sound wisdom and advice.

Survivors include his beloved wife Betty of 67 years; his children, Laura (Tom) VonEiff, Cheryl (Cyril) Socha, Brenda Weber, Sharon (Greg) Dixon; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; his brother, Gerry (Cindy); and many sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A Catholic Funeral Mass for will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. Fr. Scott Valentyn will be the Celebrant. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am at the church and continue until the time of Mass. Honor Guard immediately follows service.
