Obituary for Rose M. Gomeyosh

Rose M. Gomeyosh, age 79 of Neopit, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, July 30, 2021 at The Bay at Eastview in Antigo, Wisconsin.

Rose was born October 16, 1941 in Keshena, a daughter of the late Joe P. and Pearl (Pamenet) Kaquatosh. She attended St. Vincent Boarding School, and later graduated from Oshkosh High School. Following high school, Rose married John R. Zink in Oshkosh. The couple remained in Oshkosh where Rose was a homemaker and raised their children. On October 4, 1973, she married Joe “Beaver” Gomeyosh, and the couple made their home in Neopit. Joe preceded her in death on February 16, 2013. Rose is a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit. She worked in housekeeping, hospitality, and as a CNA. Rose loved watching her birds, and caring for her animals. She loved her family, and was a refuge for her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her six children, Debra Ann (Mark) Ziesemer of West Bend, John W. (Elizabeth) Zink, Jr. of Oshkosh, Christine (Bruce) Barwick of Birnamwood, James M. Zink of Ft. Atkinson, Jay (Vivian) Zink of Chowchilla, CA, and Michael Gomeyosh of Neopit; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Lucy Walker; and sever nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded in death by her son, Gary Gomeyosh; her daughter, Mary Lou Venable; and her grandson, Corey Jo Grignon.

A Funeral Mass for Rose will be celebrated on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit. Fr. Nonito Barra will be the Celebrant. Interment will take place in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will begin at the Michael Gomeyosh residence, N3301 St. Highway 47, Neopit after 4:00 PM Tuesday, August 3, 2021 and continue until the procession leaves for church at 10:30 AM on Thursday. A parish wake service will be held on Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM at the Gomeyosh residence.
