Obituary for Sharon Ann E. Woiak-Meisner

Sharon Ann Woiak-Meisner, age 61 of Shawano, formerly of Nekoosa, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2022, at ThedaCare Medical Center-Neenah.

Sharon was born in Wisconsin Rapids, WI on August 22, 1960, to August Woiak Jr. and Evelyn (Strub) Woiak. She attended school in Nekoosa, WI, and graduated with the Class of 1978. She also attended college at NTC-Wausau, graduating in 1980, UW-Stevens Point, College of Menominee Nation, and Winona State University, MN. On May 4, 1985, Sharon was united in marriage to Lee Meisner. The couple later divorced in 2007.

Sharon was one of the kindest people you could ever meet, she did so many wonderful things in her life. But what mattered the most is the impact she had on other people’s lives, especially with her active community work through Girl Scouts, her restaurant in Tigerton, Meisner’s Mini Mall, the Woodland Boys and Girls Club, Women of Today, Shawano Chamber of Commerce, and Shawano Child Support. She will be remembered for her warmth and her compassion for others. Her favorite pastimes included spending time with family and friends, growing her collection of Mickey Mouse memorabilia, playing scrabble, sewing, cooking, baking, and being outdoors.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Savanna) Meisner; her granddaughter, Abbygaile; her father, August Woiak; twin sister, Sue Hladilek, and sister Deb (Mike) Thorstenson; brother, Phil (Kim) Woiak; nine nieces and nephews and their spouses; twelve great nieces and great nephews; and her cat, Smokey. She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Woiak, and her ex-husband, Lee Meisner.

A celebration of life for Sharon will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 11:00 am at Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano. Pastor Andrew Zobel will officiate. Visitation will begin at 9:30 and continue until the time of service.
