Obituary for Shaunice M. King

Shaunice M. King, age 29 of Keshena, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022, in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin.

Shaunice was born June 10, 1992, in Shawano, a daughter of Kateri King and the late Alvin Sanapaw. She attended school in Keshena, graduating from Menominee Indian High School with the Class of 2010. Her greatest accomplishment was becoming the mother of Hayli-Jo King and William Hernandez. Shaunice loved to bead, socialize with family and friends, and going on road trips. You heard her before you saw her. Shanice had a big heart and always meant well. Her personality was energetic and outgoing with a one-of-a-kind soul. Shaunice had the best sense of humor, and her laugh was memorable.

Survivors include her children, Hayli-Jo King and William Hernandez; her mothers, Kateri King (Darryl LaRock) and Faye Kohel; her stepdad, James Waukau; her sisters, Sherilyn King, Justice King, Amanda Sanapaw, and Jeanette Dick; her brothers, Alvin Sanapaw, Jr., Kenny Sanapaw, Deion Sanapaw, Leroy Sanapaw, and John D. LaRock; her grandmother, Sherry (Melvin) James; her uncles, Rodney Twinn (Tracy Oshkosh) and John Kassube (Tara Mahkimetas); and her auntie, Sissy Sanapaw. She was preceded in death by Richard King, Alvin Sanapaw, Joey Sanapaw, Margaret Sanapaw, Jerry Sanapaw, Michael Waukau, and Leroy Sanapaw, Sr.

A visitation for Shaunice will begin on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at 4:00 pm at the Camille King residence, W2661 Chief Josette St., Warrington Addition, Keshena. Visitation will continue until 1:00 pm on Friday, March 4, 2022, at which time a final prayer service will be held. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
